senior style

hey howdy the second year of residency got here much faster than I thought it would.
here are some wedding pictures:

glad we got this done before second year started.  best part of the wedding was seeing how many people were able to show up and party with us.

It is very strange to have medical students staff patients with me.  It is VERY strange to have interns staff patients with me.  As a second-year I'm expected to manage all the patients in my section of the ER -- which means about 20 patients in an 8-hour shift (on an average day), and then to work 2 hours after for clean-up while the oncoming resident picks up the new patients.  Average days are getting fewer and fewer -- I'm starting to stack 30+ patients -- those are the bad days when I get home late -- but I kick myself out of the hospital and finish up at home to avoid violating duty hours.  Can't imagine how things worked before remote access to electronic medical records.  Still, it's not like I'm a surgery resident.  I still have more time to read now than I ever did on my surgery/ICU months.

The dogs are  chewing on each other so I need to stop typing and start yelling at them
